Can you believe it? Beach weather is here!!! Almost...
We may not have the warmest beaches here in Halifax N.S., but we certainly have some of the most beautiful ones.
Beach wear is trending this year from top to bottom. So if you're going to be spending some time at the beach this summer, I'm going to share with you some of this season's trends.
Full piece bathing suits are the thing this summer season! They are sexy, yet sophisticated and come in so many different styles. Ranging from high leg, high neck, mesh and lace, to floral and vibrant tropical prints. The retro inspired bikini's are also all the rage, with a high waisted bottom, any body figure could pull this style off. There is a style for every body shape, and any age will feel good in one of these styles.
Hats are a must at the beach. Not only are they stylish, but they protect your beautiful face from the sun :). Straw large rimmed hats with embroidered words are everywhere, along with the classic panama hat and solid colour baseball caps. I wear my baseball cap quite often, not just at the beach. They are great for rainy days, or when I am having one of those hair days! http://www.harpersbazaar.com/fashion/trends/g5703/best-summer-hats/
Beach towels are beach towels right? Guess again...it's the round beach towels that seem to be moving off the shelves. There are so many different patterns that you can find that are really pretty. They are large enough for two people and roll up nicely. They are not too bulky, leaving more room in your bag. https://www.facebook.com/227227634012021/photos/a.227238504010934.54217.227227634012021/1371236202944486/?type=3
Wicker/straw bags are everywhere, and they're not being worn just at the beach. They come in all sorts of shapes and sizes, some have embroidery and fringe with colour, which are pretty cute! It's a great bag to transition from beach to an afternoon lunch. https://www.anthropologie.com/bags-totes
The trick to a great cover up is finding one that can be worn from beach-to-street. Look for a long flowy skirt or a wide leg flowy pull on pant that can be worn on its own or with a matching crop top, tank top, or t-shirt. Another option would be a pretty, light weight dress, denim skirt/shorts or a sarong which can be worn so many different ways. http://shop.nordstrom.com/c/beach-cover-ups
Last but not least, your shoes! Yes, flip flops are always a go to, but to step it up a notch, the upgraded slides and espadrilles are even more fun! This season, slides have more detail, such as added fringe and pearls. The espadrilles have been going strong for a few years now, which really are the ultimate summer look shoe. These also come in a variety of styles, just choose a style that would work best for you. http://www.brownsshoes.com/1201/1201,default,sc.html&refinement=true#prefn1=siteAssignment-text&prefv1=brown&start=0&sz=60&format=ajax&infinite=yes&sz=60
